Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. Part 1 DescriptionI'M STILL HERE: Rebuilding the Man is an honest account of what happens after survival-when the substances are gone, incarceration is behind you, and the real work of rebuilding begins. For years, Levi R. Stansberry Sr. believed surviving was enough. Making it through another dangerous situation, avoiding the worst consequence, or living to see another day felt like victory. But eventually, he had to face a harder question: What was he surviving for?God's grace gave Levi another opportunity, but grace did not remove his responsibility. Sobriety did not automatically repair broken relationships. Freedom did not erase the thinking, anger, shame, pride, fear, and survival habits he carried home. Saying "I'm sorry" did not immediately restore trust.Stopping the substance and reckless behavior was only the beginning. After getting sober, Levi still had to confront his character defects. He had to learn how to tell the truth when a lie would have been easier, keep his word, accept correction, control his reactions, and take responsibility without blaming his childhood, addiction, incarceration, circumstances, or other people. He also had to face the damage his choices caused. Some people were not against him-they were tired of being hurt by him. Some relationships could not be repaired with words alone. The people he disappointed needed time, distance, boundaries, and evidence that his change was real.Levi learned that the strongest apology is sometimes the life you live from that day forward. In Part 1 of The I'M STILL HERE Series, Levi speaks openly about repairing relationships, rebuilding trust, renewing the mind, becoming a more present father and dependable man, forgiving without forgetting the lesson, and accepting that transformation must be demonstrated through consistent action. He also confronts one of the hardest parts of recovery: forgiving himself. The shame was not something he may have struggled with-it was one of the hardest battles he faced. He could ask other people for forgiveness, make amends, and change his behavior, but he still had to stop allowing his past to convince him that he was permanently disqualified from becoming someone better. This is not a story about pretending the past never happened. It is about learning from it without continuing to live inside it.Levi writes from lived experience-not from opinions, slogans on a wall, or lessons borrowed from somebody else's book. These lessons were paid for through addiction, incarceration, broken promises, missed years, damaged relationships, consequences, tears, and painful self-examination.An opportunity from Faraz Shadpour at Sober Clarity became more than employment. It became a place to learn, serve, grow, accept responsibility, and develop as a leader. But an open door could not do the work for Levi. He still had to walk through it, remain teachable, become dependable, and decide what he would do with the chance he had been given. That journey helped shape his work through Community Resources United Sharing Hope-CRUSH-and his commitment to meeting people where they are without leaving them there.Rebuilding the Man is for anyone recovering from addiction, returning home from incarceration, carrying regret, rebuilding damaged relationships, confronting shame, or wondering whether too many years have already been lost. You cannot change yesterday. You cannot force people to trust you.You cannot recover every missed moment. But you can decide what you will do today.Survival gave Levi more time. Responsibility gave that time direction. Faith helped renew his mind. Purpose gave him a reason to reach back.He is still here-not because he always made the right decisions, b Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…

Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. I haven't always been the man I am today. I've made bad decisions. I've hurt people. I've been addicted. I've been incarcerated. I've fallen down, gotten back up, and sometimes fallen again. But God wasn't finished with me.SHARING HOPE: Faith, Recovery & the Purpose Behind the Journey is not the story of a perfect man who figured life out. It is an honest journey through addiction, incarceration, recovery, faith, family, education, ministry, service, and the lessons I learned along the way.I grew up loved, but I also grew up seeing things I didn't fully understand. Addiction. Alcoholism. Dysfunction. Violence. Faith. Strength. Survival. Like a lot of families, mine wasn't just one thing. Somewhere along the way, the streets became part of my life. Bad decisions brought consequences. Addiction became a reality. Incarceration became part of my story. But none of them became the end of my story.I learned that changing your surroundings doesn't automatically change what's inside you. Getting out of prison isn't the same as being free. Recovery is more than putting drugs or alcohol down. Faith doesn't mean life suddenly becomes easy. Your past may explain parts of your story, but it does not have to determine how your story ends. There were times I had to look in the mirror and stop blaming everybody else. I had to take responsibility for Levi. Understanding where my wounds came from didn't excuse what I did with them. Grace gave me another chance. Accountability taught me what to do with it.Some of my greatest lessons didn't come from a classroom or a pulpit. They came through mistakes, consequences, relationships, recovery, quiet conversations with God, and learning to get back up after life-and sometimes my own choices-knocked me down. What once looked like it would disqualify me became part of my purpose.I went back to school after 50. I combined lived experience with education and became a counselor, peer supporter, community health worker, minister, mentor, and nonprofit founder. I began using some of the hardest chapters of my life to help people walking through their own.The pain taught me compassion. The mistakes taught me accountability. Recovery taught me perseverance. Faith taught me grace. Service taught me purpose. Through it all, I learned the power of hope.Today, through Community Resources United Sharing Hope (CRUSH), I work alongside people impacted by addiction, incarceration, homelessness, trauma, mental health challenges, and other barriers. I've learned not to count anybody out. I don't see a hopeless addict, an inmate number, or a person defined by their circumstances. I see a human being in a chapter of their life. And chapters change.I've seen people come back from places others thought were too far gone. Sometimes people don't need another person telling them what's wrong with them. They need somebody willing to meet them where they are, listen without judgment, and remind them that change is still possible. This book is for the person trying to come home, get clean, rebuild after incarceration, break generational cycles, wrestle with faith, forgive themselves, or believe that God can still use their life. Can God still use me after everything I've done? Can I rebuild? Can my pain become part of my purpose? Is it too late to change?I don't have every answer. I'm still walking my own journey. But I know this: As long as you're still breathing, there's still hope. Your worst chapter does not have to become your final chapter.Hope found me in places I never expected. Grace met me where I was, but it didn't leave me there. My prayer is that somewhere in these pages, my journey speaks to yours and reminds you that your life still has value, your story still has purpose, and God is not finished with you yet.</ Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - Men carry a lot-sometimes more than anyone knows.Pressure. Responsibility. Grief. Anger. Fear. Pride. Relationship struggles. Father wounds. Financial stress. Loneliness. The pressure to provide. The need to always look strong even when something inside is getting heavy. The Weight Men Carry is a straight, honest conversation about the things men feel but do not always talk about.Levi R. Stansberry Sr. writes from lived experience and from years of listening to men from different backgrounds and different walks of life. There is no preaching, no clinical language, and no pretending to have all the answers. Just open conversation about what men carry, what we hide, and why we need one another. This book talks about anger that may be covering hurt, pride that keeps men silent, the father wound that can follow a man into adulthood, divorce and relationship grief, exhaustion, loneliness, rejection, getting older, financial pressure, and the fear of being truly seen.It also asks some simple but important questions.Who checks on the man everybody else depends on Who does the strong man talk to when he gets tired What happens when a man has spent years saying 'I'm alright' when he knows he is not And what could change if men became more comfortable checking on one another before something falls apart The Weight Men Carry is also about brotherhood.Older men need younger men. Younger men need older men. We all have something to teach, and we all have something to learn. No matter how much money a man has, where he lives, what he does for a living, what he believes, or what his background looks like, life can still hit him.At the beginning of the day, we all put our pants on one leg at a time. At the end of the day, we take them off the same way.A man at the top can be lonely. A man at the bottom can be depressed. Either way, isolation makes the weight heavier. This book speaks to fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, friends, providers, working men, retired men, younger men still finding their way, and older men who have carried things for years without ever putting words to them.It is about learning that strength does not require silence. That another man's success does not take anything away from yours. That respect, integrity, listening, and genuine support still matter. And that sometimes brotherhood begins with something as simple as looking another man in the eye and asking: 'Brother, how are you really doing 'Same weight. Same struggles. Same weaknesses. Same strengths. Same fight. Same hope.Real Conversations. Real Thoughts. Real Issues. You do not have to have the same story to understand what it means to carry something.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - What changes when the person providing help has also been the person who needed it Levi R. Stansberry Sr. has sat on both sides of the table. He understands what it means to need assistance, and he knows the responsibility that comes with being trusted to provide it.THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TABLE challenges those of us working in human services to look beyond diagnoses, case numbers, policies, paperwork, and personal expectations. Drawing from lived experience and years of service, Levi speaks directly about listening, trust, realistic goals, accountability, harm reduction, crisis response, professional boundaries, and adjusting our approach without lowering the standard.People do not come to us as empty files waiting to be completed. They arrive carrying experiences, strengths, fears, responsibilities, disappointments, survival skills, and reasons for not trusting the systems meant to help them. If we only focus on the case in front of us, we can miss the person sitting across the table. This book examines what happens when helping becomes controlling, when professional expectations replace individual needs, and when a person's progress is measured only by whether they follow our preferred path. It also asks those of us doing this work to examine our own attitudes, assumptions, frustrations, boundaries, and blind spots.Through honest reflection and practical examples, Levi discusses how to meet people where they are without leaving them there. He explains why we must know when to press the gas, when to pump the brakes, when to speak, when to listen, and when to bring in someone with different expertise. He reminds us that what works for one person may not work for another and that changing our approach does not mean lowering our standards.THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TABLE is not about blaming workers, programs, agencies, or systems. It is an invitation for all of us to become more aware, humble, accountable, and effective in the way we serve.Written for peer-support specialists, case managers, counselors, nonprofit leaders, recovery professionals, mentors, outreach workers, reentry professionals, housing navigators, and anyone entrusted with helping others.Helping is not controlling. Support is not ownership. The person's journey remains their own. Before we address the case, we must see the person.…

Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. I'M STILL HERE: Doing Something With My Second Chance continues the journey that began in Rebuilding the Man.Part 1 focused on confronting the damage, renewing the mind, repairing relationships, rebuilding trust, forgiving yourself, and becoming the person you should have been.Part 2 asks: What are you going to do with the life you have left?A second chance is not only something you receive. It is something you must protect and use. Survival gives you more time, but purpose gives that time direction.Levi R. Stansberry Sr. knows what it means to lose years to addiction, incarceration, reckless behavior, broken relationships, and poor choices. He also knows that getting sober and coming home do not automatically create a meaningful life.Eventually, the excitement of recovery wears off.People stop congratulating you. Life becomes ordinary again. Bills arrive. Relationships require patience. Temptation returns. Some doors remain closed. Some people still see who you used to be, even after you have changed. That is when the real work begins. Can you remain committed when nobody is applauding? Can you keep making better decisions when progress feels slow? Can you protect your recovery when disappointment, boredom, loneliness, pressure, or your old life comes calling? In Part 2 of The I'M STILL HERE Series, Levi speaks honestly about recovery after the celebration ends. He explores finding purpose later in life, staying disciplined, serving people coming behind you, and turning painful experiences into a roadmap for someone else.Addiction, incarceration, shame, broken trust, and lost years carried real consequences. But Levi refuses to let those experiences remain wasted. The lessons cost too much to keep to himself. His journey through behavioral health, transitional housing, peer support, recovery services, mentorship, and leadership taught him that people need more than advice. They need opportunity, accountability, support, and someone willing to see the person behind the addiction, record, diagnosis, homelessness, trauma, or worst decision. That understanding helped shape Community Resources United Sharing Hope-CRUSH.CRUSH meets people where they are, restores dignity, shares hope, connects families with resources, and reminds them that their worst chapter does not have to become the rest of their lives. But reaching back does not mean Levi believes he has arrived. He is still learning, growing, accepting correction, strengthening relationships, protecting his recovery, and making decisions that affect his family, leadership, purpose, and those who see his life as evidence that change is possible.Purpose does not remove struggle. It gives you a reason to continue through it.This book is for anyone who has survived addiction, incarceration, homelessness, trauma, violence, mental health challenges, broken relationships, or years without direction. It is for those who believe they started too late, are doing better but wondering what comes next, or need to remember why they began recovery. You do not have to be perfect to serve somebody else. But you must be honest about where you are, what you know, and what you are still becoming.Your pain can become a warning sign.Your experience can become a roadmap.Your survival can become service.Your second chance can become hope for somebody else.Your past remains part of your story, but it does not have the authority to write the ending.Levi is still here because God's grace gave him another opportunity. Now he is determined to do something meaningful with it.He still has to make CHOICES. My prayer is that somewhere in these pages, my journey speaks to yours and reminds you that your life still has value, your story still has purpose, and God is not finished wi Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.…
