Winner of the 1984 Capricorn Award, sponsored by the Writer's Voice of the West Side YMCA and judged that year by Philip Levine. In his introduction, Levine describes Petrie's poetry as "extraordinarily accomplished" and writes ".I wonder how it is possible [these poems] are not better known, and. I have no answer.".
