Aggiungi al carrelloSoft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. Early Tin Pan Alley fox-trot era sheet music issue featuring actress and comedienne Charlotte Greenwood in Oliver Morosco's production Linger Longer Letty. The cover presents a dramatic Art Nouveau-to-early Art Deco transitional design in muted green and gold tones, with Greenwood framed in an oval portrait beneath the comic refrain 'Oh by gee, by gosh, by gum, by juv.' A small caricature vignette at upper left adds vaudeville-era humor typical of late-1910s popular music publishing. The typography and ornamental palm-frond background strongly reflect changing postwar commercial illustration styles at the dawn of the Jazz Age. Lyricist Lew Brown (1893-1958) became one of the defining Tin Pan Alley songwriters of the 1920s and 1930s, later collaborating with Ray Henderson and Buddy DeSylva on standards including 'Button Up Your Overcoat' and 'The Best Things in Life Are Free.' Composer Albert Von Tilzer (1878-1956) belonged to the famed Von Tilzer songwriting family responsible for numerous early American popular hits. Actress Charlotte Greenwood was one of Broadway and Hollywood's most recognizable comic performers, celebrated for her towering height, eccentric dancing, and long theatrical career spanning vaudeville, stage revues, and film. Condition: Very Good overall. Complete with moderate edge wear, light creasing, corner rubbing, and age toning typical of inexpensive wartime-era sheet music. Small edge chips and handling wear visible along margins; interior music pages remain clean and fully legible. Rear advertisement panel remains intact and especially interesting for its early mechanical-reproduction references, including promotion of songs 'reproduced on all' phonograph and player-piano systems. Likely first edition - first printing, supported by the single 1919 copyright statement and absence of later revision or renewal markings.…

A tiny bit of separation at the bottom of the fold, "1921" written in ink at the top of the front cover, rubbing to the exterior, still a very good and complete copy. For voice and piano. Plate imprint, "Dapper Dan - 3." Features short samples of "Sunnyside Sal" by Kendis and Brockman, and "A Voice from Mummyland: Ilo" by Johnny S. Black. The front cover states that this song was "Featured with terrific success by Eddie Cantor in 'Midnight Rounders.'" The front cover features a black and white photographic portrait of Eddie Cantor in blackface attached to a cartoon body, an alternative cover exists in which Cantor's portrait is absent, the cartoon man has a cartoon head (a white man, not in blackface), the title font is different and reads, "Dapper Dan from Dear Old Dixie Land," and the statement about the show is absent as well, with the rest of the illustration remaining the same; both versions were published in 1921 (possibly simultaneously). *Midnight Rounders* premiered in July of 1920 and closed in November of the same year after 120 performances.…
