Summarized on the dust jacket: "Here is a modern adventure of mammoth proportions: - flood control and prevention by air! A moving, gripping story of man's struggle against this menace." Theiss was a popular writer of aviation stories for children and FLOOD MAPPERS ALOFT is among his least common titles. Although fictional, the story details the devastating Susquehanna River flood of St. Patrick's Day 1936 and efforts of aerial surveying by the New Deal program called the Civilian Conservation Corps (aka the CCC). A very good copy in a good dust jacket.…
