OTTO KOENIG (1914-92) österreichischer Verhaltensforscher und Publizist mit einer Ausbildung als Fotograf. Der Schüler von Konrad Lorenz gründete gleich nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg 1945 mit seiner Gattin Lilli Koenig die Biologische Station Wilhelminenberg in Wien. Dieses Institut für Vergleichende Verhaltensforschung (später im Rahmen der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften) leitete Otto Koenig selbst. Er leistete Bedeutendes für den Natur- und Wildtierschutz in Österreich, erhielt zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und wurde 1962 zum Professor ernannt.
