Ein besonderes Augenmerk rictet der Autor auf die Verfolgung der Hugenotten in Frankreich, die verstärkt durch die Aufhebung des Edikts von Nantes (Edikt von Fontainebleau 1685) einsetzte und zur Massenflucht von Hugenotten aus Frankreich führte. Der in den Niederlanden geborene Limiers war selbst Sohn französischer Hugenotten-Flüchtlinge. Seiten partiell etwas gebräunt. Sonst sehr gutes, im Erscheinungsbild harmonisches Exemplar dieser frühen kritischen Gesamtgeschichte zur Regierungszeit Ludwigs XIV.
