"This volume is not intended to be an all-inclusive history of Lindsborg and the Smoky Valley. Material has been selected on the basis of its ability to answer the question, 'Why Lindsborg?' in the bicentennial year of the United States of America, 1976." [from the Preface] Elizabeth Jaderborg (1918-2016) was the founding director of the Lindsborg Swedish Dancers, author of numerous articles and books on the people and events of Lindsborg, an early Swedish settlement where she lived for 65 years as a wife, sweetheart, homemaker, sometimes teacher of English and mother of three children. Known to many of her friends and relatives as "Liz" or "Betty", she married Einar Jaderborg who brought her to Lindsborg in 1943. As a non-Swede in a community founded by Swedish immigrants who held fast to their traditions, she became intrigued by the community's history and brought it to life for its children's children through her research and writings. A "must have" for anyone interested in Lindsborg, Kansas. Inscribed by Author(s).
