Edouard Marcet était un émigrant suisse en Australie, auteur du récit fictif de la vie au Queensland intitulé Australie, un voyage à travers le bush, publié en 1868. Cette première édition, en français, a été imprimée par l'Imprimerie Jules-Guillaume Fick à Genève. L'ouvrage est remarquable par ses illustrations, (20 reproductions photographiques albuminées de dessins (10 planches pleine page et 10 plus petites), dont deux représentent l'ornithorynque. Il décrit des rencontres dramatiques entre colons et peuples autochtones, ainsi que l'histoire naturelle du Queensland. Liquier, G. et D. (illustratore).
