The first leaf itemises aroound seventy journeys made by Brown such as 'With letters to Skipton' and 'Stratford Hay Corn and Hostler', with prices in the right hand column and a grand total. Brown has tipped his receipt to the recto of the second leaf of the bifolium with annotations to the verso regarding 'John Brown's account. A calligraphic label appears on the final verso: 'Old George Inn (Now the Ribblesdale Arms Posting Charges '. Old fold marks and some drying to the paper. A vintage photograph of a pack of horses and hounds assembling in front of the Ribblesdale Arms accompanies the document, probably c. 1900.
