Ottimo (Fine). . . . Anthony Caro, scultore inglese, inizio la sua carriera artistica come allievo di Henry Moore. Nel 1956 tiene la sua prima personale alla Galleria del Naviglio di Milano, seguita l'anno dopo dalla prima personale a Londra, alla Gimpel Fils Gallery, e nel 1963, la mostra delle prime sculture astratte in acciaio, alla Whitechapel Gallery. Partecipa alla Biennale di Venezia nel 1966 e a quella di San Paolo nel 1969. Dal 1970 comincia a realizzare sculture in acciaio non dipinto che vengono esposte in numerosi musei: il Museum of Modern Art di New York nel 1975; la Tate Gallery di Londra nel 1991; il Museum of Contemporary Art di Tokyo nel 1995; e la National Gallery di Londra nel 1998. Nel corso della sua carriera lo scultore ha ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti, come il Premio Imperiale per la scultura di Tokyo, e lauree ad honorem dalle Università di Cambridge e Yale. Insignito del cavalierato nel 1987, Caro è stato anche membro onorario dell'American Academy of Arts and Letters di New York e dell'Accademia di Brera di Milano. La sua consacrazione nel panorama artistico internazionale avviene con la grande mostra retrospettiva del 2004 a Londra. Book.
