La filosofia, in Grecia, nacque infatti politica. La proposta è stata rivolta ad un discreto numero di studiosi i quali, pur accettando inizialmente l'invito ed apprezzando la rilevanza della proposta, si sono poi in ultimo ritirati. Crediamo che questa serie di defezioni sia stata dovuta non solo ai numerosi impegni, che pure sappiamo essere molti, quanto ad una reale difficoltà, presente nella maggior parte degli accademici, ad attribuire un senso ed un valore generale alla propria attività filosofica; oggi infatti, in università, l'attività filosofica è svolta in modo specialistico, spesso con un eccessivo riferimento a singole tematiche, sicché la filosofia ha progressivamente smarrito la propria capacità di rivolgersi direttamente all'intero, alla progettualità, alla fondazione onto-assiologica.
