Uncommon. / "Fredy Perlman (1934-1985) was an anarchist, writer, and printer who was active in the Detroit, Michigan area. In the early 1970s, Perlman and a group of like-minded individuals founded the Detroit Printing Co-op, which aimed to provide affordable printing services to left-wing and radical organizations in the Detroit area. The Detroit Printing Co-op became known for its high-quality printing and its commitment to social justice causes. The co-op printed a wide variety of materials, including books, pamphlets, and posters, and worked with many different groups and individuals in the Detroit area. Perlman was also a prolific writer and published several influential books and articles on anarchism, Marxism, and the history of revolutionary movements. His best-known work is probably "Against His-story, Against Leviathan!", which offers a sweeping critique of civilization and argues that human beings must resist the oppressive forces of the state and capitalism in order to create a truly free society. Perlman died in 1985, but the Detroit Printing Co-op continued to operate for several more years, providing an important resource for activists and organizers in the Detroit area." // Co-ops, Cooperatives.
