Hardcover. Condizione: As New. 1st Edition, Limited Edition. "The Wonderful Adventures of Paul Bunyan" is a collection of American tales centered around the legendary lumberjack Paul Bunyan and his companion, Babe the Blue Ox. These stories, rooted in the oral tradition of 19th-century logging camps, describe Paul's incredible strength, size, and feats of strength, which often involve shaping the American landscape. The tales detail how Paul created lakes, rivers, and geographical features like Puget Sound, the Grand Canyon, and the Black Hills. This is the 1946 text edited by the American anthologist Louis Untermeyer. It is a beautiful book, published by The Heritage Press in 1973. It is bright green cloth with gold trim; it comes in a purple slipcase. Large print, 131 pages, lovely paper. It's surprisingly heavy. It includes many illustrations, black and white and color, by the American painter Everett Gee Jackson (1900-1995). The slipcase has significant fading.
