J'ai ensuitte presenté le desir que l'Academie auroit que le Roi se chargeat de faire la dépense de la gravure des planches du dictionnaire. Il m'a répondu qu'il lui paroissoit à propos que le Roi fit non seulement graver les planches par le meilleur graveur, mais se chargeoit encore de faire imprimer l'ouvrage même par les imprimeurs gagés à l'hotel de la guerre, dans le format que decideroit l'Academie;qu'elle envoyeroit ici les cahiers redigés et que l'impression seroit suivie par quelques-uns de ses membres residens a Paris ou a Versailles". "Wenn er seine Pflichten als Bibliothekar wirklich erfüllt", könne er nicht wegen des Gehalts herausgefordert werden. Des weiteren geht es um die Gravur der vermutlich Druckplatten für das Nachschlagewerk der Akademie. Bougainville schlägt vor, dem Herzog von Chartres eine Ausgabe des Bandes zu geben, denn er habe eine Enge Verbindung zum Marine Corps. [] qui a pris a Brest et qui conerve au corps de la marine un tendre attachement []"Abbé Rochon, bürgerlich Alexis-Marie de Rochon (1741-1817), war ein französischer Astronom, Mediziner und Reisender. Er beschäftigte sich mit optischen Linsen, nach ihm ist das Rochon-Prisma benannt. Er galt als ausgezeichneter Astronom, der auf Seereisen Positionsmessungen durchführte. Er war unter anderem Mitglied der Academien zu Paris und Petersburg, Astronoms der Marine, Aufsehers des königlichen physicalischen Cabinets". In seiner Funktion als Bibliothekar war er zwischen 1773 und 1777 nahm er nur sechs Mal an den wöchentlichen Akademiesitzungen teil ( vgl. Alexis-Marie Rochon (1741-1817), savant astronome et opticien. Danielle Fauque, S. 11).Louis Antoine de Bougainville war ein Offizier, Seefahrer und Schriftsteller. Er umsegelte als erster Franzose die Welt. 1772 wurde Bougainville zum persönlichen Sekretär von Louis XV. erhoben.
