White printed dj is bright with some edgewear, mostly at the head/tail spine and corners, sunned at the spine, and marked "Hattery & Bush '56" in pen (Prof. Verzuh's normal method of marking books in his library). Laid in are several pieces of ephemera related to the book and publisher. The stamp of Frank M. Verzuh and his received stamp on the front flyleaf. Cloth. An early book that attempts to summarize thinking about the impacts to management of electronic computers. "It captures the experience of such pioneers in the field as the National Bureau of Standards, the US Bureau of the Census, the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, and the United States Steel Corporation." (from the foreword). The volume was adapted from the proceedings of the First Institute on Electronics in Management at the American Institute in Nov 1955. The authors also published a 1965 title "Automation and electronics in publishing". Prof Verzuh worked on the MIT Rapid Arithmetic Machine at MIT, and was active in early computing. A nice copy of an early book in the management of computers. Very scarce.
