This book delves into the study of extinct and fossil birds, particularly the Cathartidae family (also known as New World vultures) whose absence in the Old World is a fascinating topic. The author explores the evolutionary history of this distinct group through meticulous examination of fossils. Through the analysis of skeletal remains, the author sheds light on the temporal and geographical distribution of these species. The book also investigates patterns in their extinction and offers insights into the factors that influence their present-day distribution.
