The Upper Oligocene (Chattian) of the Adour Basin contains 35 species of the families Babyloniidae (2 species), Harpidae (2 species), Costellariidae (7 species), Turbinellidae (2 species), Mitridae (6 species), Charitodoronidae (5 species), Pyramimitridae (1 species), Ancillariidae (6 species) and Olividae (4 species). Among them 8 new species are described (1 Babyloniidae, 3 Costellariidae, 1 Mitridae, 3 Charitodoronidae) and 6 are left in open nomenclature. Lectotypes are designated for Turbinella cancellata Grateloup, 1845, Turbinella intermedia Grateloup, 1832 and Turbinella subpugillaris d'Orbigny, 1852. The Stampien is both an age of the geological timescale and a stage in the stratigraphic column. With thick white sands, the Fontainebleau sandstone was a major source of building material the nineteenth and twentieth century in Ile-de-France. Therefore, one can say the rocks of the Stampian have largely influenced landscapes and urban life in the Paris Basin. The great richness and variety of fossils, especially the enormous number of bivalves and gastropods have led to a worthwhile research up to date. The results of this scientific work are documented in this volume. Avec les épais sables blancs, les grès de Fontainebleau qui ont pavé les rues parisiennes, les meulières de couleur rouille une des principales sources de matériau de construction au XIXe et XXe siècles en Île-de-France , les roches du Stampien ont durablement influencées les paysages et la vie urbaine du bassin de Paris. Situé idéalement entre les domaines nordique et méridional, riche d'une grande variété de fossiles parfaitement préservés, le Stampien est, depuis sa lointaine création en1852, l'objet de nombreuses études scientifiques. Il est aussi reconnu comme patrimoine national et ses sites les plus précieux sont, depuis 1989, intégrés dans la Réserve naturelle nationale des sites géologiques du département de l'Essonne. We record 30 species of Tonnoidea from the Upper Oligocene of Aquitaine (Adour Basin). These comprise taxa in the families Cassidae (11 species), Tonnidae (1 species), Laubierinidae (1 species), Charoniidae (1 species), Bursidae (3 species), Cymatiidae (9 species), Personidae (1 species), and Ficidae (3 species). Three new species are proposed, one in Cassidae (Semicassis poustagnacensis n. sp.) and two in Cymatiidae (Linatella antecessor n. sp., Gyrineum cahuzaci n. sp.). Twelve species are directly related to known species from the Lower Miocene of Aquitaine and 7 species are also known from the Lower Oligocene. Twelve species are reported for the first time in these deposits. Five species could not be named or are identified as "c.f.". We identified six species species, including a new Rupelian species (Cassis vancuycki n. sp.) in a review of the Oligocene and Miocene Cassis of Aquitaine. Neotype designation is made for Semicassis miodiadema Sacco, 1908. Lectotype designations are made for Cassis mamillaris Grateloup, 1827, Triton crassum Grateloup, 1845, Triton ventricosum Grateloup, 1833 and Ranella subrania d'Orbigny, 1852. L'Oligocène supérieur (Chattien) du bassin de l'Adour contient 69 espèces des familles Volutidae (16 espèces), Volutomitridae (8 espèces), Marginellidae (5 espèces), Cystiscidae (6 espèces) et Cancellariidae (34 espèces). Parmi elles, 28 nouvelles espèces sont décrites (5 Volutidae, 1 Marginellidae, 4 Cystiscidae et 18 Cancellariidae) et 4 sont laissées en nomenclature ouverte. Au moins 46 espèces sont de nouvelles occurrences. Trois espèces de Volutidae du Rupélien et deux espèces nouvelles (Volutidae, Cancellariidae) du Miocène sont également décrites. Une nouvelle occurrence de Marginellidae [Eratoidea cf. eratoformis (Hoernes & Auinger, 1880)] est signalée dans le Miocène inférieur. Les observations de la sculpture (rampe suturale), de la morphologie de la protoconque et des motifs de couleurs résiduelles ont montré qu'Athleta ficulina est un complexe qui regroupe au moins 8 espèces et que Voluta ficulina Lamarck, 1811 et Voluta rarispina Lamarck, 1811 sont synonymes. Afin de stabiliser la nomenclature, le nom Voluta ficulina est retenu et un Néotype est désigné. Dans le Bassin aquitain, 4 espèces d'Athleta sont identifiées dans l'Oligocène supérieur et 2 espèces dans le Miocène inférieur. Dans les autres gisements du Miocène d'Europe (et de Turquie), 3-4 espèces sont présentes, dont probablement 2 nouvelles espèces du Miocène moyen de Turquie qui sont généralement identifiées sous les noms d'Athleta ficulina (Lamarck, 1811) ou Athleta rarispina (Lamarck, 1811). Un nouveau groupe de Volutidae (Athletinae) limité à l'Oligocène supérieur est identifié. Comme aucun nom existant ne s'applique à ce clade, un nouveau nom sous-générique est créé ici : Oligoathleta, n. sous-genre. Les changements taxonomiques suivants sont apportés : 1) le genre Loxotaphrus (Cancellariidae) est reconnu comme un synonyme plus récent de Fusimorio et, par conséquent, plusieurs nouvelles combinaisons sont introduites; 2) le sous-genre Athleta (Volutocorbis) Dall, (août 1890) est reconnu comme très proche d'Athleta (Neoathleta) Sacco, (février 1890); en conséquence la plupart des espèces de l'Eocène et de l'Oligocène européen classées dans Volutocorbis doivent être attribuées à Neoathleta. 3) des Lectotypes sont désignés pour Voluta subaffinis d'Orbigny, 1852; Voluta gabriella Benoist, 1874; Voluta subelegans d'Orbigny, 1852; Sveltia pyrenaica Peyrot, 1928 et Sveltia aturensis Peyrot, 1928. A new occurrence of Marginellidae [Eratoidea cf. eratoformis (Hoernes & Auinger, 1880)] is reported in the lower Miocene. The observations of the sculpture (sutural ramp), the morphology of the protoconch and the residual color patterns have shown that Athleta ficulina is a complex that includes at least 8 species and that Voluta ficulina Lamarck, 1811 and Voluta rarispina Lamarck, 1811 are synonymous. In order to stabilize the nomenclature, the name Voluta ficulina is retained and a Neotype is designated. In the Aquitaine Basin, 4 species of Athleta are identified in the Upper Oligocene and 2 species in the Lower Miocene. In the other Miocene deposits of Europe (and Turkey), 3-4 species are present, including probably 2 new Middle Miocene species from Turkey which are generally identified under the names Athleta ficulina (Lamarck, 1811) or Athleta rarispina (Lamarck, 1811). A new group of Volutidae (Athletinae) limited to the upper Oligocene is identified. As no existing name applies to this clade, a new subgeneric name is created here: Oligoathleta, n.
