Privately printed Custer biography by Captain Edward Smith Luce of the 7th cavalry "Garry Owen" veterans. This copy inscribed to an infantry colonel who likely served with Luce: "To my good friend of the "old army days" - Col. B.H. Hensley, USA." Luce gives a brief biography of the early life of the horse, Comanche, the military career of Myles Keogh, and covers Custer in the Civil War, and at the Washita and Little Big Horn. Howes L553.
