Ricketts has designed the covers and contributed two illustrations one being an original engraving. The title page is designed by Selwyn Image and the endpapers by Lucien Pissaro. Pre and post-lims and a few inner pages foxed, spine a little bumped at foot and a little bumped and frayed at top, the odd scuff and minor mark elsewhere. But a very good copy indeed of the limited edition. With the exotic bookplate of Gilbert C Elliot, fine book collector, initialled by the designer with an interlocked AB.

Eragny roundel pressmark printed to recto of title-page; opening page with wood-engraved illustration by Lucien Pissaro. Quarter grey paper, title gilt to upper cover, white and beige floral-patterned paper boards, title gilt to spine. Printed from 'Vale' types in black and red on unbleached wove paper with 'Vale' watermark. Corners very slightly bumped; upper joint slightly worn. Front endpapers foxed, contents otherwise clean, bright, and fresh. A very good copy. The first book of ballads and rondeaus by François Villon published by the Eragny Press, and the companion volume to the 'Autres poésies de Maîstre François Villon'. Beautifully illustrated by Lucien Pissaro, the eldest son of Camille Pissaro, an eminent Impressionist in his own right.
