Encuadernación de tapa blanda. Condizione: Muy Bien. Edit. Visor Libros, 2012 Madrid. …

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a humorous and satirical take on the world of street vendors and charlatans through the story of Olegario, a hair growth elixir salesman who struggles to make a living. However, his luck changes when he meets Guadalupe, a young woman who agrees to help him sell his product by pretending to have been cured of baldness by his elixir. Together, they embark on a series of adventures that expose the gullibility of the public and the lengths people will go to for a quick profit. Through its witty dialogue and engaging characters, this book offers a glimpse into the lives of those who live on the fringes of society and the ways in which they navigate the challenges of everyday life. Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is a critique of the pitfalls that democratic states can fall into, arguing that democracy's inherent functionality often gives rise to moral hazards that in turn cause democratic institutions to self-destruct. The author presents a diatribe against democratic societies, claiming that when external threats recede, internal divisions arise and are exploited by demagogues. The author examines the phenomenon from a historical perspective, arguing that it occurred in the fall of the Roman Republic, the Weimar Republic, and could happen again today. The book argues that the very systems put in place to preserve democracies are the same systems that can destroy them when external threats disappear, and appeals for vigilance and recognition of this hazard in order to ensure democracy's survival. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
