Secondly, I will have a look at how and why the obsession increases. During that, the relationship to Dan Cody will be inspected.Then it is time to have a closer look at Daisy. Her relationship to Gatsby is the most important one in the book. Daisy's influence on Gatsby will be shown clearly. Furthermore, I will talk about the importance of money for Jay's obsession and possible connections to other desires especially with regard to his relationship with Daisy. Gatsby's way of using his money will be reviewed.Because time is an important element for the story, the relation between time and Jay's obsession will be discussed. The work shows what humour reveals about power relationships and its use either to enforce or to lessen status differences.The connection between the individual and a group can be defined through humour. How solidarity is achieved will be investigated. Afterwards, it is about the relation between humour and gender being followed by the strategy to create workplace harmony. The issue of how humour contributes to group life, the way it affects social relations will be another point of interest.Last but not least, it tries to show what kind of reactions can be evoked by using humour. It can work as tension releaser, as well as an aggression diffuser. Further possibilities of use are to hedge directives and to hide criticism which can trouble the participants. Especially the trouble of responding correctly to these will be an issue of discussion. The ambivalence of humour can be seen here again, which, once more, makes the problem of defining humour clear.

En particular, s…e examinará la creación de un área de idioma español en la región del Río de la Plata y su ulterior desarrollo en la Argentina, el Uruguay y el Paraguay.Si se quiere tratar estas áreas lingüísticas, es insuperable llamar la atención sobre el problema de la superposición de las fronteras nacionales, tribales y lingüísticas. Las fronteras nacionales arbitrarias trazadas por los conquistadores no corresponden a las fronteras de la historia prehispánica de Hispanoamérica, lo que dificulta una cartografía clara de las zonas lingüísticas. Aquí se presupone el conocimiento de que las zonas del Río de la Plata ya estaban pobladas mucho antes de la llegada de los españoles y que chocaron con muchos pueblos indígenas diferentes durante el intento de colonizarlos. Junto con el intento de situar las fronteras, se intenta mostrar la influencia de las lenguas indígenas. Por un lado, el guaraní, que predominaba en las zonas del Paraguay, pero también el quechua, que fue introducido por los incas desde el norte en algunas partes de la zona del Río de la Plata, desempeñan un papel importante. Además, se examina la motivación de los españoles para entrar en estas zonas y se destacan los resultados de ello. Se examinan los procedimientos y se observa la historia de los países para sacar conclusiones sobre el desarrollo de los dialectos del español en la región de La Plata. Por último, esto ayudará a comprender mejor el estado actual del idioma español en Paraguay, Uruguay y Argentina.

Daran angeknüpft und damit zusammenhängend folgt die Entstehungsgeschichte des Humankapitalkonzepts bis hin zur Humankapitaltheorie. Schließlich wird versucht, den Einfluss der Bildung, also des Humankapitals, auf das Wirtschaftswachstum deutlich zu machen. Mit einer Theorie zur Investition in das Humankapital wird genauer auf die Funktionsweise dieses Konzeptes eingegangen. Will man diese Sprachgebiete behandeln, so ist es unüberwindlich im Zuge dessen auf das Problem der sich überschneidenden Landes-, Stammes-, und Sprachgrenzen aufmerksam zu machen. Die von den Konquistadoren arbiträr gezogenen Landesgrenzen stimmen nicht mit den Grenzen der vor-spanischen Geschichte Hispanoamerikas überein, was eine klare Kartografierung der Sprachräume erschwert. Die Kenntnis darüber, dass die Gebiete des Río de la Plata bereits lange vor der Ankunft der Spanier besiedelt waren und diese bei dem Versuch der Kolonisierung mit vielen unterschiedlichen eingeborenen Völkern zusammenstießen, gilt hier als vorausgesetzt. Einhergehend mit dem Bestreben nach Situierung der Grenzen wird ein Versuch unternommen, den Einfluss der indigenen Sprachen aufzuzeigen. Gewichtige Rollen spielen zum einen das Guaraní, das in den Gebieten Paraguays vorherrschend war, aber auch das Quechua, das von den Inkas aus dem Norden in Teilgebiete des Río de la Plata-Raums eingeführt wurde. Des Weiteren wird die Motivation der Spanier, in diese Gebiete einzudringen, durchleuchtet und die Resultate dessen herausgestellt. Die Vorgehensweisen werden untersucht und die Historie der Länder beobachtet, um Schlüsse auf die Entwicklung der spanischen Dialekte im La Plata-Raum schließen zu können. Im Versuch eine Antwort auf diese Frage zu finden, wird das Verhältnis von Grammatik zu Kommunikation durchleuchtet. Dabei geht es um die Frage, in welcher Weise sich Grammatik und speziell Weinrichs Textgrammatik der deutschen Sprache auf Kommunikation beziehen lässt und welche Möglichkeiten diese dem Sprachlerner beim Erfassen gesprochener Sprache bieten kann. Begonnen wird mit einem Vergleich der Textgrammatik von Harald Weinrich mit der herkömmlichen, traditionellen Grammatik des Dudenverlags.Anhand der Betrachtung der Pronomen man und das in Textbeispielen der Textgrammatik zeichnet sich ab, dass sie im Gegensatz zur traditionellen Grammatik des Dudens, mündliche Kommunikation besser miteinbezieht und Unterschiede zur Schriftsprache lernerorientierter herausstellt.

They, being forced to journey to the Americas, must have had to endure and process many cultural conflicts. The journey's impact will provide the basis to investigate on a possible double identity being created by the slaves to arrange with their new culture, as well as with their cultural heritage.Olaudah Equiano's The Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa, the African will serve as an important resource for this purpose. To begin, the European culture in the 18th century will be looked at. Especially the European attitude towards other cultures will be of interest. Afterwards it will be set into contrast with the culture of the African tribes. A special account will be taken to compare historical data to Olaudah Equiano's descriptions of Igbo culture and the theme of culture clash will be examined. Included in this, the phases of culture shock will be explained.In the following section, I will look at cultural similarities between British and African societies, based on accounts of Equiano's Interesting Narrative. Evidence of his assimilation to European culture will be used when attempting to demonstrate his European identity. Having clarified this, a closer look will be taken at how culture and identity are connected. Following that, an attempt will be made to explain the creation of identity. Focusing on Equiano, the circumstances of developing a double identity will be investigated. Finally, Equiano's case will be used to explain the progress and stages of double identity throughout his life.Of course, it is arguable, whether Equiano actually came from Africa or was born in the Americas. However, this is no matter of investigation in the present paper. Nevertheless, it shall be considered by the reader. Still, in this paper Equiano's report of African life shall be taken as it is. For the purpose of exploring his historical accuracy, I have added the historical account of African nations to either verify or disprove his observations. Disregarding of how accurate Equiano's historical insides will be, his report unquestionably reveals the effects of cross- cultural encounters on the individual's identity. 32 pp. Englisch.

Furthermore it tries to enlighten the linguistic strategies involved. Here the role of power will be looked at. The work shows what humour reveals about power relationships and its use either to enforce or to lessen status differences.The connection between the individual and a group can be defined through humour. How solidarity is achieved will be investigated. Afterwards, it is about the relation between humour and gender being followed by the strategy to create workplace harmony. The issue of how humour contributes to group life, the way it affects social relations will be another point of interest.Last but not least, it tries to show what kind of reactions can be evoked by using humour. It can work as tension releaser, as well as an aggression diffuser. Further possibilities of use are to hedge directives and to hide criticism which can trouble the participants. Especially the trouble of responding correctly to these will be an issue of discussion. The ambivalence of humour can be seen here again, which, once more, makes the problem of defining humour clear. 28 pp. Englisch.

Las fronteras nacionales arbitrarias trazadas por los conquistadores no corresponden a las fronteras de la historia prehispánica de Hispanoamérica, lo que dificulta una cartografía clara de las zonas lingüísticas. Aquí se presupone el conocimiento de que las zonas del Río de la Plata ya estaban pobladas mucho antes de la llegada de los españoles y que chocaron con muchos pueblos indígenas diferentes durante el intento de colonizarlos. Junto con el intento de situar las fronteras, se intenta mostrar la influencia de las lenguas indígenas. Por un lado, el guaraní, que predominaba en las zonas del Paraguay, pero también el quechua, que fue introducido por los incas desde el norte en algunas partes de la zona del Río de la Plata, desempeñan un papel importante. Además, se examina la motivación de los españoles para entrar en estas zonas y se destacan los resultados de ello. Se examinan los procedimientos y se observa la historia de los países para sacar conclusiones sobre el desarrollo de los dialectos del español en la región de La Plata. Por último, esto ayudará a comprender mejor el estado actual del idioma español en Paraguay, Uruguay y Argentina. 24 pp. Spanisch.

Die von den Konquistadoren arbiträr gezogenen Landesgrenzen stimmen nicht mit den Grenzen der vor-spanischen Geschichte Hispanoamerikas überein, was eine klare Kartografierung der Sprachräume erschwert. Die Kenntnis darüber, dass die Gebiete des Río de la Plata bereits lange vor der Ankunft der Spanier besiedelt waren und diese bei dem Versuch der Kolonisierung mit vielen unterschiedlichen eingeborenen Völkern zusammenstießen, gilt hier als vorausgesetzt. Einhergehend mit dem Bestreben nach Situierung der Grenzen wird ein Versuch unternommen, den Einfluss der indigenen Sprachen aufzuzeigen. Gewichtige Rollen spielen zum einen das Guaraní, das in den Gebieten Paraguays vorherrschend war, aber auch das Quechua, das von den Inkas aus dem Norden in Teilgebiete des Río de la Plata-Raums eingeführt wurde. Des Weiteren wird die Motivation der Spanier, in diese Gebiete einzudringen, durchleuchtet und die Resultate dessen herausgestellt.
