Hardcover. Condizione: Poor. Hildegard Lupprian, Jack Perkins, Carl Emil Wehde, H. G. Nicholas (illustratore). See photos for condition details: hardcover in very poor condition. The book itself is in numerous pieces with some pages showing a hinge repair done with newspaper. Numerous sections are detached but the book does appear complete. The front and rear boards are both separated as are some of the interior page folds. We are hoping someone can either save this book or utilize it in some other way. This is the original 1931 publication with color illustrations throughout by numerous people. The book itself ask a contains four different stories with four different title pages, all of which are unnumbered. The Story of Little Black Sambo (c. 1931) is illustrated by Hildegard Lupprian is the main story with the first title page. This is followed by numerous illustrations of a little Dutch girl and boy. The second title page is for The Pied Piper of Hamelin (c. 1931) illustrated by Jack Perkins, followed by more random images of little Dutch boy and girl. The next title page is for The Three Pigs (c. 1931), illustrated by Carl Emil Wehde. After the last set of random Dutch boy illustrations is the final story: Jack and the Beanstalk (c and. 1931), illustrated by H. G. Nicholas. The front end page and pastedown both have handwriting present and only some of the Little Black Sambo pages were reinforced with newspaper. Toning is present throughout but only the end pages and pastedowns show the worst of the handling wear -with the exception of the exterior boards which are heavily worn and soiled. This book is in very poor condition and is what we call "a book in a bag" because it is in so many pieces.
