The Sanskrit version (Devanagari script) of each verse is given in the opening page of the chapter. The transliteration of the verse in English is given immediately below the Sanskrit version in the opening page of the chapter itself. The meaning of the verse in English is given on the reverse page of the opening page of each chapter inside the silhouette of Aadi Shankara in meditation pose. Sanskrit terms are printed in italic. Elaborate and educative meanings of the Sanskrit terms used, are in the Glossary. Footnotes have been given wherever a singular term was to be explained. Apart from a General Index there is a separate Index for slokas (verses) to facilitate the reader. ~ There have been several commentaries on "Bhajagovindam" of Aadi Sankara. This book however is a unique one for at least three reasons: Firstly, it is the most comprehensive and elaborate commentary on the subject. Secondly, while commenting on the thirty one verses of Aadi Sankara in Bhajagovindam, the author has taken every effort to bring out the very quintessence of Indian Spirituality and has made it appeal and acceptable to a rational and inquisitive modern mind, by a logical and interesting presentation. Thirdly, to drive home the point, several anecdotes and apt quotations from authoritative works have been given in the book. If Bhagwad Geeta could be said to be the essence of the vedas and the upanishads, the author establishes in this work that °Bhajagovindam" is the very epitomy of Bhagwad Geeta itself in which the seven hundred verses of Geeta have been compressed and squeezed into just thirty one verses without sacrificing the quality and the clarity.
