Tailpiece. 8vo. 10" x 6-3/8" "John Masfield Mackenzie was a Scottish poet and writer who lived in Edinburgh during the 19th century. He is known for his contributions to Scottish literature and is often associated with the Romantic movement. His works reflect the cultural and social landscape of Edinburgh during that time, showcasing the city's rich literary heritage." [Bing] Conducted over 8 days, the MacKenzie auction was comprised of 2485 lots. All lots priced, evidently by an auction participant, noting a total of £7072. The 1892 Anderson auction was comprised of 269 lots, realizing just over £1078. General extremity wear. Joints tender, with front joint starting at the bottom. Book label of one Robert Vaughan. An Avt VG copy. Period tan half-calf with marbled paper boards. Marbled eps. Original wrappers bound-in. Now protected, and supported, by a custom cut clear mylar wrapper.
