Hardcover. Condizione: Fair. No Jacket. Eight volume set, but lacking vol.6. Some wear to bottom edges of boards. Books and square and bindings are tight. Foxing in some areas of text and plates. Library rebound. Contents generally clean with a few marks, especially on end papers. One plate (Stuart tartan) has a piece cut out from it. Title page states: "Supplied to subscribers only. This vol only (Vol 1), a restorer's delight! imperial octavo, brown buckram boards, gilt decoration to spine & boards, frontispiece with tissue guard, xxxvi + 776pp, illus, beautiful but needs a lot of TLC (much archival tape repair to spine, binding completely loose, sporadic clumps of pages loose but mostly present, age appropriate wear and tear to boards) photos recommended before purchase.
