Intervention: Acupuncture groups received treatments three times weekly for a total of twelve sessions over a period of 4 weeks. Disposable needles of acupuncture were used. For the active acupuncture group, 9 acupuncture points (bilateral LI4, LI20, GB20 and ST36, unilateral EX-1) were selected, while in the sham acupuncture treatment, the needles were inserted at non-acupuncture points 1¿1.5 cm away from the real acupuncture sites. Medical treatment patients were treated with local nasal steroid (Nasonex) two buffs in each nostril once daily for four weeks.

Es wurden 150 Patienten beiderlei Geschlechts über 18 Jah…re aus städtischen und ländlichen Gebieten ausgewählt, die seit mehr als einem Jahr an einer saisonalen und/oder ganzjährigen allergischen Rhinitis leiden und in drei Gruppen mit jeweils 50 Patienten aufgeteilt wurden. Die Symptome wurden mit dem Total Nasal Symptom Score (TNSS) bewertet; wir wählten Fälle mit einem TNSS 3 für jedes Symptom in dieser Studie aus. Intervention: Die Akupunkturgruppen erhielten dreimal wöchentlich Behandlungen in insgesamt zwölf Sitzungen über einen Zeitraum von 4 Wochen. Es wurden Einweg-Akupunkturnadeln verwendet. Für die aktive Akupunkturgruppe wurden 9 Akupunkturpunkte (beidseitig LI4, LI20, GB20 und ST36, einseitig EX-1) ausgewählt, während bei der Scheinakupunkturbehandlung die Nadeln an Nicht-Akupunkturpunkten in einem Abstand von 1-1,5 cm von den eigentlichen Akupunkturstellen eingeführt wurden. Die medizinisch behandelten Patienten wurden vier Wochen lang mit einem lokalen Nasensteroid (Nasonex) behandelt, das einmal täglich in jedes Nasenloch gespritzt wurde. 124 pp. Deutsch.
