Soft cover. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: No Dust Jacket. Jacket Design for "Cher Antoine" by Jean-Denis Malcles (illustratore). "Les Mains Sales" shows no date later than 1948. Charmingly garish (but uncredited) cover art gives us a terrified blond(e) couple (love the polka-dot cravat) with shadow of gunman and his snub-nosed revolver on wall behind. Reading crease down center of spine; modest rub to all edges. Pages modestly age-toned, especially to edges. Book remains intact and easily read; no repairs currently needed, though any paperback of this vintage should be handled gingerly. Tout le texte de ces livres est en langue française. 255 pp., here reduced from $35. OUR SECOND OFFERING IN THIS LOT, a 1969 softcover publication of la table ronde, Paris, is Jean Annouilh's play "Cher Antoine," a mass-market (sized) paperback with a removable dust jacket, said jaquette having been designed de Jean-Denis Malcles. Anouilh's play was presented for the first time in Paris on Oct. 1, 1969 at the Comedie des Champs-Elysees, and this edition of 8,975 copies (if we read the statement correctly) was printed on Nov. 3, 1969. The entire play (in French) here in 193 pp. This is a lovely copy with no reading creases that would grade "fine" except for one problem -- the book has a wave in it. When viewed from the top or bottom, entire book forms an "S" shape, with the dips measuring almost 1/8th inch (about 3 mm.) Doubtless caused by improper storage, this might be improved by tight shelving. A pair of French language paperback dramas, combined into a lot at one price to consolidate shipping, the pair now reduced from $20.
