Hardcover. Condizione: New. Contents: 1. Why We Need Biopesticides: Some Case Studies of Chemical Pesticides. 2. Insecticide Resistance and Case Histories. 3. History and Development of Biological Control. 4. Biopesticides Classification and Their Formulations in India. 5. Nano-Biopesticides for Management of Insect Pests of Crops. 6. Impact of Biopesticides Application on Crop Quality and Environmental Quality. 7. Indian Biopesticide: Market, Consumption, Growth and Opportunities. 8. Biopesticides: Research and Development Activities. 9. Biopesticide Commercialization: World-wide Regulation Policies for Registration and Use of Biopesticides. 10. Promotion of Biopesticides in India: Role of Government and Growers. 11. Growth of Biopesticides: Driving Force and Set-Back. According to estimates, plant pests and diseases cause at least 10% of the world's food production to be lost. Additional pest and disease losses occur after harvest, where it is estimated that up to 13% of the total calories generated are lost after leaving the farm gate, in addition to in-field losses. According to Indian viewpoints, biotic stressors cause a 2026% annual loss of food commodities. The effects of the "Green Revolution" (GV) multiplied crop production and productivity, which ultimately affected the livelihoods of Indian civilians. However, the introduction of numerous inorganic plant protection inputs resulted in irreversible harm to the environment, human lives, and material wealth. The focus on environmentally friendly plant protection measures, particularly microbial biopesticides, has expanded as a result of current conditions and Indian government regulations on chemical pesticides that take into account their negative effects. In the recent past, India's biopesticide industries, demand, consumption, market, etc., have grown tremendously. It is expected that between 2040 and 2050, the biopesticide industry would either match or surpass those of chemical pesticides. Global population growth is projected to reach 9 billion people by 2050, and the duty to increase food production by 70% of current levels in order to feed this population has led to a ruthless shift toward the use of artificial agricultural inputs. Nevertheless, there are ways to enhance food production to the anticipated level by using Integrated Pest Management, which enables the prudent application of inorganic inputs in conjunction with environmentally benign tactics like microbial biopesticides.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - The book provides a comprehensive overview of combustion models used in different types of spark ignition engines. In the first generation of spark ignition (SI) engines, the turbulence is created by the shear flow passing through the intake valves, and significantly decays during the intake and compression strokes. The residual turbulence enhances the laminar flame velocity, whichis characteristic of the fuel and increases the relative effectiveness of the engine. In this simple two-zone model, the turbulence is estimated empirically; the spherical flame propagation model considers ignition delay, thermodynamics, heat transfer and chemical equilibrium, to obtain the performance and emissions of an SI engine. The model is used extensively by designers and research engineers to handle the fuel-air mixture prepared in the inlet and different geometries of open combustion chambers. The empiricism of the combustion model was progressively dismantled over the years. New 3D models for ignition considering the flow near a spark plug and flame propagation in the bulk gases were developed by incorporating solutions to Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations for the turbulent flow with chemical reactions in the intense computational fluid dynamics. The models became far less empirical and enabled treating new generation direct-injection spark-ignition (DISI) gasoline and gas engines. The more complex layout of DISI engines with passive or active prechamber is successfully handled by them. This book presents details of models of SI engine combustion progressively increasing in complexity, making them accessible to designers, researchers, and even mechanical engineers who are curious to explore the field. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in spark ignition combustion.…
