It was found that the patients in the post intervention group had a statistically significant (p < 0.05) control in the INR values than the pre intervention group. A statistically significant difference (p = 0.025) was observed in the quality of life of patients at pre and post intervention groups. There was also a significant (p = 0.016) increase in patient¿s knowledge about anticoagulant therapy between pre and post intervention. The community pharmacists and medical practitioners managed anticoagulant service is feasible and acceptable to patients and pharmacist involved in the study.

Es wurde ein Satz von zwei verschiedenen Fragebögen entworfen und von einem Team von Ärzten und Apothekern validiert, die an d…ie Bevölkerung verteilt wurden, die die Einschlusskriterien erfüllte. Die Fragebögen wurden auch so gestaltet, dass die soziodemographischen Details der Teilnehmer erfasst wurden. Die Studie wurde über einen Zeitraum von sechs Monaten durchgeführt und umfasste die meisten größeren Krankenhäuser des Studienortes. Insgesamt wurden 124 Ärzte bzw. Apotheker in diese Studie aufgenommen. Die Studie enthüllte die Bedenken von Ärzten und Apothekern bezüglich der Substitution von Generika. 67% der teilnehmenden Ärzte wiesen auf die Notwendigkeit einer Bioäquivalenzstudie für Generika hin, um deren Qualität zu gewährleisten. 47% von ihnen waren der Meinung, dass Generika genauso wirksam sind wie innovative Medikamente, während 83% von ihnen betonten, wie wichtig es ist, ein Aufklärungsprogramm über die Verwendung von Generika durchzuführen. 76% der Apotheker zeigten eine positive Einstellung gegenüber der generischen Substitution, indem sie es vorzogen, sie bei der Behandlung kleinerer Beschwerden zu verwenden. Als sie nach ihrer Bereitschaft dazu befragt wurden. Die Ergebnisse der Studie zeigen, dass sowohl die Ärzte als auch die Apotheker über gute Kenntnisse und eine gute Einstellung zur generischen Substitution verfügen. A set of two different questionnaires was framed and validated by a team of… physicians and pharmacist, which was given to the population that met the inclusion criteria. The questionaries were also designed in such way to collect the socio-demographic details of the participants. This study was conducted over a period of six months covering most of major hospitals of the study site. A total of 124 physicians and pharmacist was enrolled in this study respectively. The study disclosed the concerns of physicians and pharmacist regarding generic substitution: 67% percent of the enrolled physicians raised the need for bioequivalence study for generics, to ensure its quality was the main concern for physicians, and 47% of them perceived that generic drugs are effective as innovator drugs, while 83% of them stressing the importance to conduct awareness program about the use of generics, while the lack of knowledge among the public regarding the generics was a common concern for physicians and pharmacists, around 76% of the pharmacist. 76 pp. Englisch.

Even after an increase in the level of awareness about AIDS in India, still Tamilnadu is one among th…e six-high HIV prevalence states in India. ADRs are most likely to occur in ART regimens and reporting of the same by the patients is vital for the optimal care. As Pictograms may serve as one of the tools to improve ADR reporting by the patients, a prospective interventional study was conducted at the Government ART Centre at Ooty, The Nilgiris. Pictograms were developed and tested for validity using ISO criteria, transparency and translucency tests involving 100 participants and about 66% comprehensiveness was found. A total of 160 patients were enrolled in the study and randomised into intervention group and control group. The intervention group was provided with pictograms to report ADRs and control group was provided standard counselling. A total of 239 ADRs were reported by the participants in which about 66% of the ADR reports were by the intervention group and 34% from the control group. 76 pp. Englisch.

The present study was undertaken to assess the knowledge and beliefs regarding menstruatio…n and hygiene practices among adolescent girls and also to provide them health education. This prospective interventional study was conducted in higher secondary schools in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Girls within the age of 10-19 years who attained menarche was included into the study. Data was collected by using self-administered questionnaire. The study found that knowledge on cause of menstruation was poor among participants i.e. only 43.33% of them knew the actual process of menstruation but the knowledge was significantly increased to 94.3% after intervention. But 93% girls knew that menstruation is not a disease. Only 54.33% had the knowledge that pregnant women will not menstruate. The knowledge on duration of normal menstruation among the respondents was significantly increased from 68.66% to 96% who correctly identified it as 3-7days. Similarly, knowledge on interval between 2 menstruation cycles was significantly increased from 35.6% to 95%. 72 pp. Englisch.

Se elaboró un conjunto de dos cuestionarios dif…erentes, que fueron validados por un equipo de médicos y farmacéuticos, y se entregaron a la población que cumplía los criterios de inclusión. Los cuestionarios también se diseñaron para recoger los detalles sociodemográficos de los participantes. El estudio se llevó a cabo durante un período de seis meses y abarcó la mayoría de los principales hospitales del lugar del estudio. Un total de 124 médicos y farmacéuticos se inscribieron en este estudio, respectivamente. El estudio reveló las preocupaciones de los médicos y farmacéuticos respecto a la sustitución de genéricos. El 67% de los médicos inscritos plantearon la necesidad de realizar un estudio de bioequivalencia de los genéricos, para garantizar su calidad, y el 47% de ellos percibieron que los medicamentos genéricos son tan eficaces como los innovadores, mientras que el 83% de ellos destacaron la importancia de llevar a cabo un programa de concienciación sobre el uso de los genéricos, mientras que la falta de conocimiento entre el público con respecto a los genéricos fue una preocupación común para los médicos y los farmacéuticos, alrededor del 76% de los farmacéuticos mostraron una actitud positiva hacia la sustitución de los genéricos, prefiriendo que se sustituyan para el tratamiento de dolencias menores. Cuando se les planteó una pregunta sobre su voluntad al respecto. Los resultados del estudio mostraron que tanto los médicos como los farmacéuticos tenían un buen conocimiento y actitud hacia la sustitución de genéricos. Los datos se recopilaron mediante el uso de un cuestionario autoadministrado. El estudio encontró que el conocimiento sobre la causa de la menstruación era deficiente entre los participantes, es decir, solo el 43,33% de ellos conocía el proceso real de la menstruación, pero el conocimiento aumentó significativamente al 94,3% después de la intervención. Pero el 93% de las chicas sabía que la menstruación no es una enfermedad. Solo el 54,33% tenía conocimiento de que las gestantes no menstrúan. El conocimiento sobre la duración de la menstruación normal entre las encuestadas aumentó significativamente del 68,66 % al 96 % que la identificó correctamente como de 3 a 7 días.
