Der Jurist Caspar Manzius (1606 -1677) trat im Zuge der Gegenreformation zum Katholizismus über, studierte in Dillingen an der von Jesuiten geführten Hochschule und war dort auch einige Jahre als Professor. Die längste Zeit hat er dann aber in Ingolstadt gelehrt. Dort hat er auch als Rektor gewirkt, seinen Ruhm aber vor allem durch seine fruchtbare juristische Schriftstellerei erworben (vgl. ADB).
