Jean MANZON è stato un fotografo francese che ha lavorato in Brasile, innovando il fotogiornalismo brasiliano. Nato a Parigi, - dove inizia a collaborare con riviste quali Paris Match, Vu e Paris Soir - si trasferisce nel 1940 a Rio de Janeiro, per fuggire la guerra. Qui lavora dapprima al Departamento de Imprensa e Propaganda del governo di Getùlio Vargas, e dal 1943 per la rivista O Cruzeiro. Fu uno dei fotografi brasiliani più celebri tra il 1940 e il 1980.
