Dans cet ouvrage, l'homme politique (il sera notamment sous-préfet de Cognac en Charente de 1804 à 1808), financier et grammairien Marc-Alexandre Caminade (1746-1816) s'attaque aux obscurités de la métaphysique grammaticale, défend une graphie moderne des pluriels ("parents" au lieu de "parens"), améliore le repérage du texte en numérotant ses paragraphes, etc. On trouvera sur le site du CTLF une belle et riche notice de cet ouvrage, rédigée par Jacques-Philippe Saint-Gérand.
