Anne Bonnet (1908-1960) obtient enfin l'attention qu'elle mérite avec ce livre. L'artiste belge encore relativement méconnu a été l'un des fondateurs de l'association d'artistes De Jonge Belgische Schilderkunst et… a été membre du groupe Kunst van Heden. Elle personnifie une transition essentielle dans l'art moderne : celle de la figuration à l'abstraction. Au départ, Bonnet peint dans un style animiste - en opposition au surréalisme naissant - mais après 1950, elle dépouille son travail d'un certain sentimentalisme et développe une forme extrêmement personnelle de peinture abstraite. Bonnet était une voyageuse passionnée et l'influence de ses nombreuses expéditions se fait sentir dans son art, tant dans sa composition que dans sa palette de couleurs. Dans cet ouvrage, première monographie consacrée à Anne Bonnet, Marcel Daloze, conservateur du Musée Marthe Donas à Ittre, entraîne le lecteur dans un voyage passionnant dans l'univers pictural de Bonnet.
