Ln. *neuwertig* Der ps.galenische Text De historia philosopha liefert einen unabhängigen Hinweis über die Qualität der griechischen Handschriften, die Nicolaus Rheginus bei der Anfertigung seiner lateinischen Übersetzungen von galenischen und pseudo-galenische Texten verwendet hat. Dies ist deswegen möglich, da di…e lateinische Übersetzung nicht nur mit den erhaltenen griechischen Handschriften der Historia philosopha verglichen werden kann, sondern auch mit den Placita philosophorum des Ps.Plutarch, mit der arabischen Übersetzung der Placita philosophorum von Qust? ibn L?q? und auch mit den Exzerpten der Placita Philosophorum, die sich unter anderem in der Praeparatio evangelica des Eusebius finden. Denn bei der Historia philosopha handelt es sich um eine Epitome der Placita philosophorum und als solche gehört der ps.galenische Text ebenso zur doxographischen Tradtion wie die oben angeführten Texte und auch wie die Eclogae physicae des Stobaeus. Mit den Placita philosophorum und den Eclogae physciae kann der verlorene doxographische Text ???? ??? ?????????? ???? ?????????? ??????? ???????? ???????? des Aëtius rekonstruiert werden. Die Zugehörigkeit der Historia philosopha zu dieser doxographischen Tradition liefert damit ein unabhängiges und objektives Kontrollmedium in Bezug auf die Bewertung der in der lateinischen Übersetzung des Nicolaus erhaltenen Lesarten. Denn alle Lesarten können nicht nur mit den Lesarten der griechischen Handschriftentradition der Historia philosopha verglichen werden, sondern auch mit dem griechischen Text der Placita philosophorum, wie dieser in den erhaltenen byzantinischen Handschriften überliefert ist, mit der arabischen Übersetzung und mit den Exzerpten bei Eusebius oder auch mit den Eclogae physicae. Die doxographische Tradition kann deswegen als unabhängiges und objektives Kontrollmedium gelten, da Kontamination zwischen der Übersetzung des Nicolaus und einem der angeführten Texte ausgeschlossen werden kann. In der Übersetzung des Nicolaus findet sich kein Hinweis darauf, dass dieser eine Handschrift vorliegen hatte, die einen der genannten Texte enthalten hat. Auch in dem ersten Druck der lateinischen Übersetzung aus dem Jahre 1502 durch Hieronymus Surianus, der die einzige Quelle dieser Übersetzung ist, da keine lateinische Handschrift dieses Textes erhalten ist, findet sich keine Kontamination mit diesen Texten. Einen Beitrag zu der unabhängigen Überlieferung ist der Tatsache zu verdanken, dass die Placita philosophorum im Textcorpus des Plutarch und die Historia philosopha als Epitome dieses Textes im Textcorpus des Galen überliefert worden sind. Erste Anzeichen über das Wissen von einer Verbindung dieser beiden Texte findet sich in einem Druck von 1525, der den griechischen Text der Historia philosopha enthält. Das Verhältnis zwischen der Historia philosopha, den Placita philosophorum, der Praeparatio evangelica und den Eclogae physicae ist ebenfalls erst seit dem 16. Jahrhundert bekannt.
