Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. This book came from the collection of the renowned sociologist, Daniel Bell. However, he did not write his name or make any markings in the book. It looks like Dr. Bell may have created this copy for himself. On the Title/Contents page there is print stating Harvard Fine Arts Library, Fogg Museu…m and underneath that the written statement 'Gift of Kovler Gallery Jan 1968.' Also as you can see from the photos there are the three white stickers on the spine. The label on the front cover looks out from a window-like rectangular enclosure. The book, which is a catalogue with photographs of the works, is in very nice condition. The covers are very clean. There is some light superficial rubbing over a little bit of the bottom edges causing some white coloration from underneath to show. The front top corner has a speck of the same. The page edges look very good. There is one very small darkish spot on the top edge just adjacent to the top edge of the spine. The spine has a forward lean, but the book is very solidly bound. The pages are very nicely tight from cover to cover. The covers are nicely tight as well, although I think the juncture between the front cover and front end paper is reinforced. The pages are exceptionally clean. I'm not finding any soiling. I'm not seeing any creasing. There are no markings. There are no attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. There is a gray vertical line just off the outer edge of some of the pages. You can see it in the photo of the page I provided. I'm assuming this was the result of the copying of the pages. Not quite sure why Dr. Bell would have made a copy of the book and had it bound in hardcover when he could've just purchased the book. In any event it has created a unique copy, so to speak. You can make out the names of the Printmakers whose works were exhibited in this catalogue. Dr. Bell had a serious interest in art and probably in collecting. There are 843 works presented.
