The inaugural issue of this semi-annual literary journal of essays, short fiction, poetry, documentary material and graphic art from Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States' and Canada's own domestic "Third Words." "Caliban aims to to reflect the deepening commitment, the anti-imperialist and increasingly revolutionary consciousness of the poets, artists, and wrtiers of Our America and how, however modestly, to contribute to the general dissemination of their work" (pgs. 3-4).
