Included in the Four Oaks Library are books and manuscripts from Samuel Johnson, Henry Fielding, James Boswell, Mrs. Thrale, valuable materials from other noteworthy 18th century authors, a collection of 18th century portraits, an Oscar Wilde collection, a collection of rare Japanese books, a George Bernard Shaw collection, a large selection of Elizabethan Books and Early Drama including a special portrait of Shakespeare. there are many fine bindings and curiosities of the binder's art, and a wide ranging collection of valuable autographs. It is such an array as to make one stop in wonder. Offered here is the two volume limited edition set, "Four Oaks Farm" & "Four Oaks Library", edited by Gabriel Austin, and privately published in Somerville, New Jersey. Both volumes were issued in November 1967 : "Four Oaks Farm" in a limited run of 1,000 Copies, and "Four Oaks Library" in a limited run of 1,250 copies. The books were printed on Curtis Rag Paper by Clarke & Way at The Thistle Press. Both volumes are illustrated with photographs printed by the Meridian Gravure Company. (There are also a couple of maps of historical interest to the farm.) The binding was made by The Russell-Rutter Company, and the entire work was designed by P. J. Conkwright.
