There is some staining on the lower outside corner of some of the pages, but it bleeds only slightly in to the margins on those pages, and does not even come close to coming into contact with the text. The corners and spine ends are lightly bumped with some loss of color on the edge of the spine; the edges have some foxing spots. The endpapers are clean and slightly aged with dedication for a Christmas present in ink. The frontispiece is a wonderful black and white illustration of a six man bob sled going down a hill; the interior is clean except for three small foxing spots on the edge of the pages, it does not harm writing.

This was the original True First Edition. The cover has red lettering on the front cover and black lettering on the spine. This edition is taller and wider than the A.L. Burt reprints, which did not have the other illustrations. Good condition, corners are bumped. Has the name of a prior owner, Christmas 1911.
