This 64-page privately printed book is not dated, but the author died in 1992, so this probably dates to a decade or two prior to that. It is a catalogue of the author's art collection. He was not one of the major Mellon collectors, and states in an introduction…that he inherited most of his collection, but there are some items of interest in it. Especially striking is a watercolor of an amaryllis by Emil Nolde. The notes accompanying the artworks regard the artists, but also include tidbits of Mellon family history. The book is sound and clean, but with some fading to the cloth boards. Fast shipping, with tracking number provided. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. 1st Edition. In 1885 Judge Thomas Mellon printed the contents of this book privately "for his family and descendants exclusively". Over the years family members exceeded the number of books printed. The family therefore decided to reprint and redistribute Judge Me…llon's writings on 21st June 1968 at a ceremony at his birth place at Camp Hill, Omagh, Co. Tyrone. This did not happen. The family decided to incorporate the events of that day (including black and white photographs) within this volume instead. The book in green boards and green slipcase is in very good condition. No tears, bumps, inscriptions. The bottom of the spine has a sunned edge. There is a subtle line in the green board probably from its inception during the binding process. The page block is fresh, bright and clean as this book is clearly unread and was kept in its slipcase for the last 50 years. The page block sits square. The binding is tight. There is no foxing. There are a large number of black and white photographs at the rear of the book of the 1968 ceremony. The dust jacket however has a heavily sunned and faded spine and does not do the otherwise beautiful book justice. It would be better to file same as its presence also tightens the slipcase unnecessarily around the volume. Please examine all photos. More available upon request.
