Trenforschung Innovationen Marktforschung Zukunftsforschung Marketinginstrumente Der Behauptung des Bremer Neurologen Gerhard Roth Recht gebend, dass Sprache primär dazu dient, sein eigenes Verhalten zu rechtfertigen, füllen auch Matthias Horx und seine Co-Autoren allzu viele Seiten… mit Legitimierungen. Sie verteidigen ihre Zunft mit allen möglichen Mitteln. Dabei wäre dies meiner Ansicht nach gar nicht in dieser Eloquenz und Ausführlichkeit nötig. Es würde genügen, die Grenzen der Zukunfts- und Trendforschung aufzuzeigen und dann mit dem Praxisteil zu belegen, dass die Branche durchaus zum Geschäftserfolg beitragen kann. Denn gerade die Fokussierung auf ganz konkrete Praxisinstrumente ist ja die Stärke dieses Buches. In einer seltenen Offenheit geben die Autoren ihre Geheimnisse preis. Sogar als kopierbare Beilagen auf einer CD-ROM, im PowerPoint und pdf-Format. Möglich, dass hinter diesem Konzept die Erfahrung steht, Wissen allein bewirke ohnehin wenig. Es ist wie bei den Lebensratgebern, Bücher können zwar Einsichten vermitteln, aber kaum wesentliche Veränderungen im Verhalten. Matthias Horx baut also darauf, dass sich trotz Arbeitsmaterialien genügend Unternehmen an ihn und seine Mitstreiter wenden, die den Originalbeistand buchen möchten. Es erstaunt mich wenig, dass viele Arbeitsmittel und Checklisten modifizierte Formen altbekannter Marketinginstrumente sind. Denn schliesslich müssen auch Trendforscher zuerst Vergangenheit und Gegenwart analysieren, den Blick für Künftiges zu klären. Und auch wenn ich nicht alle Schlüsse und Gewichtungen des Autorenteams teile, hat mir dieses Buch sehr gut gefallen. Das liegt nebst dem Ansatz und der Offenheit auch an der Auswahl und Fülle der Beispiele. Nicht alle sind neu, aber viele. Ausserdem wird Altbekanntes meist unter einem neuen Blickwinkel betrachtet. Mein FazitObwohl ich punkto Trendforschung auch durch dieses Buch nicht vom Saulus zum Paulus mutierte und sich die Zukunft komplexer Systeme nicht genau voraussagen lässt, empfehle ich dieses Buch gerne weiter. Weil die Autoren weniger dick auftragen als viele ihrer Berufskollegen, weil sie dem Leser Einblick in ihre Arbeitsweisen geben und weil die Materialien auf der CD-ROM tatsächlich Mehrwert bieten.
