Joachim Camerarius l'Ancien (Joachim Kammermeister), Bamberg, 12 avril 1500, Leipzig, 17 avril 1574 - Erudit allemand - Issu d'une famille dont le premier nom était Liebhard, et qui avait reçu le surnom de Camerarius, parce que plusieurs de ses membres avaient été chambellans. Il se fit de bonne heure connaître par des ouvrages érudits, enseigna le grec et le latin à Nuremberg (1526), et réorganisa les universités de Tubingue (1550) et de Leipsick (1552). Il joua aussi un grand rôle dans les affaires politiques et religieuses, embrassa un des premiers la réforme, se lia étroitement avec Philippe Melanchthon, l'aida à rédiger la Confession d'Augsbourg, fut chargé par le sénat de Nuremberg de plusieurs missions importantes, et jouit d'un grand crédit auprès des empereurs Charles Quint et Maximilien d'Autriche, ainsi que des ducs de Saxe Henri et Maurice.Bernard Salomon (v. 1506-1561 ?) Fletus et risus figure dans l'Alciat de 1547 et Inimici dans la Métamorphose de 1557. Dans Vulpes et Ciconia (N° 208, page 247), non pas la version de 1547 où l'on voit la cigogne insérer son bec dans le vase, mais celle où elle cherche maladroitement à boire dans une flaque d'eau, la forme du renard est bien de Salomon, et d'autres détails, comme le bec ouvert de l'oiseau font penser à lui. L'attribution de certaines autres gravures est moins sûre, par exemple De Avecula et messe (N° 488, page 470) qui figure un homme avec un rateau pourrait être de lui, mais un autre personnage assis qui est trop trapu, et, bien que l'arbre soit plutôt convainquant, le ciel et le paysage ne lui appartiennent pasSALOMON : Bernard Salomon (v. 1506-1561 ?) - Dit aussi le Petit Bernard, B. Gallus ou Gallo, Peintre, dessinateur et graveur . Sa vie est à ce jour bien mystérieuse. De récentes études (Peter Sharratt, 2005) ont démontré toute l'importance qu'a eu cet « artiste complet auprès de la communauté humaniste lyonnaise », alors en pleine effervescence du côté des arts du livre.Antoine du Verdier, en 1585, le signale comme étant un « très excellent tailleur d'histoires ».Il travailla en étroite collaboration avec l'imprimeur Jean 1er de Tournes.Les catégories d'ouvrages qu'il illustra sont : les livres d'emblèmes, les uvres scientifiques et documentaires, les uvres littéraires, les livres de fête et deux chefs-d'uvre, à savoir, la Bible et les Métamorphoses d'Ovide Livres 285944020254.
