Die unabhängige Variable ist die strukturelle semiotische Analyse, angereichert mit den Theoremen von Vladimir Propp, Julien Greimas, Tzvetan Todorov und Roland Barthes; und die abhängige Variable ist das erzählerische Werk La última pared roja von Pedro Artieda, typisch für die ecuadorianische Literatur des 21. Der theoretische Rahmen erläutert die Dimensionen der Handlungsanalyse, die Funktionen der Geschichte und die Erzählperspektiven, die innere und äußere Struktur des Werks sowie eine biografische Skizze des Autors des vorgeschlagenen Romans. Schließlich wird eine Methodik vorgeschlagen, um das Hauptthema eines erzählerischen Werkes mit Hilfe der semiotischen Analyse zu erkennen.

Il quadro teorico spiega le dimensioni dell'analisi attanziale, le funzioni del racconto e i punti di vista narrativi; inoltre, la struttura interna ed esterna dell'opera, nonché uno schizzo biografico dell'autore del romanzo proposto. Infine, viene proposta una metodologia per riconoscere il soggetto principale di un'opera narrativa attraverso l'analisi semiotica.
