Starting from a definition of globalization and the connection of globalization and capitalism, I will then point out the origins of globalization and the subjects in sociology of globalization. I will analyse the causes and consequences of globalization from a sociological point of view. I come to the conclusion that globalization led to an increase of welfare all over the world but there are also new problems which need to be solved.…

Nichts wird wieder ganz so sein, wie es vorher war.¿ (Willy Brandt)Der Ölpreisschock von 1973/74 ist einem Großteil der Bevölkerung auch heute noch in lebhafter Erinnerung. Autofreie Sonntage, Energieferien und die Angst vor einem kalten Winter trugen dazu bei, dass sich die Ölkrise in den Köpfen festsetzte. Zudem markiert sie einen Wendepunkt der Wirtschaftsentwicklung: Die mit Euphorie verbundenen Wachstumsraten der Jahre des Wirtschaftswunders ebbten ab und mündeten in eine instabile Phase mit gemäßigtem Wachstum, steigender Arbeitslosigkeit ¿ aber auch eine Phase des Neu-¿ und Umdenkens.Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit den Ursachen und Folgen der Ölkrise von 1973/74, zeigt aber auch andere Gründe für das Ende des Wirtschaftswunders auf. Hierbei wird zuerst die auf die wirtschaftliche und politische Vorgeschichte eingegangen. Es folgt eine Analyse der Folgen steigender Ölpreise, sowohl theoretisch im Modell als auch durch eine Auswertung der wirtschaftlichen Kenndaten der Jahre ab 1970. Des Weiteren werden Maßnahmen zur Bekämpfung der Krise in Westdeutschland und Österreich diskutiert. Weitere Gründe für das Eintreten eines neuen Wachstumspfades ab 1970 werden diskutiert. Abschließend folgt ein Vergleich mit neueren Ölpreisschocks sowie die Antwort auf die Frage, warum Ölpreisschocks heutzutage nicht notwendigerweise in einer Krise enden.…
