Aggiungi al carrelloTaschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Excavation of sand is a continuous required process because it is a need of construction. Every year large amounts of sand are extracted from the rivers meet the demand for construction and nourishment activities. In present book sand excavation situations in River Godavari and River Bhima is discussed in detailed. Sand mining is causing environmental damage worldwide. Sand and boulders prevent the river from changing the course and act as a buffer for the riverbed. Excessive in stream sand mining is a threat to bridges, river banks and nearby structures in the study area Sand mining also affects the adjoining groundwater system. Determining the sand budget for a particular stream reach is solution but for this following information is required like site-specific topographic, hydrologic, and hydraulic information. With this information we can estimate the amount of sand removal in upstream and downstream area of the bridges. To control sand mining the miner should have licence. Illegal operation should be stopped. Government guidelines should be followed by the miners. 152 pp. Englisch.

Aggiungi al carrelloTaschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The water, falling on the surface in the form of precipitation and escaping normal losses, moves across the area under the influence of gravitational force. In the process, it defines channels by repetitively following the same pathways. Thus, the river channels evolve in an area through the process of movement of water. Once firmly established they form the most dynamic component of a drainage basin.

Aggiungi al carrelloTaschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Flooding is a natural and recurring event for a river or stream. The River Godavari is a major drainage system and largest river of the Peninsular India. It originates in the Western Ghats at Bramhagiri near Trimbakeshwar in the Nashik District of Maharashtra at an elevation of 1294 m above sea level. With a total length of 1465 km of which 694 km is in Maharashtra State. The main aim of this study is to find out the areas which are prone to flood risk every year and mark the flood lines in urban flood area. Urbanization is the major cause for the rivers to get flooded and spread the water in to residential areas. Residential areas goes on increasing every year in the flood plain zones and this type of encroachment leads to decrease in channel width and increase in flood prone zones. Floods of 2006 and 2008 were taken for the present studies which have created a great Data have been collected in field and from the different government offices. At the outcome it can be said that the large floods are important geomorphic agents that temporarily affect the forms and behavioral characteristics of some rivers, but leave a lasting effect in urban areas.
