Lansing, A.M., and Roma Gans, Ph.D. Bound in ornate blue embossed leatherette with gilt spine titling and a vivid color front paste-on of an astronomer at his telescope. Illustrated endpapers show a golden world panorama of exploration and wildlife, with hundreds of color and black-and-white images throughout - including a striking chromolithographic -Paleozoic Swamp. Publisher's original descriptive leaflet for Volume I ('I Am Volume One - The World and Its Peoples') remains tipped to the front endpaper, outlining sample questions and page references. A scarce marketing insert seldom retained. Condition: Fine+, tight binding, bright pages, no markings; gilt and cover art vivid.
