This is the Nature issue of McKendrick's delivery of the paper at the Philosophical Society of Glasgow for 16 December 1896. This is the original weekly issue offered extracted from a larger bound volume, with the scarce front wrapper. Good conditionthere is an old vertical fold that runs through the first column. Provenance: Smithsonian Institution Astrophysical Observatory, with their old rubber stamp. McKendrick'sprofessor of physiology at Glasgoweffort here is one of the early attempt studying graphic records of soundwaves specifically prepared on phonographic cylinders, looking for variations in the graphics of pitch and the meaning they convey. Interesting study! McKendrick had a long career and published often and widelyfascinating career.
