By their common name, they include : Long-Eared, Southern Spotted, Great Gray, Pale Horned, Flammilated Screech, Snowy, Burrowing, Elf, and Rocky Mountain Pygmy. For the ornithologists who prefer : Otus flammeolus, Bubo virginianus saturatus, Nyctea nyctea, and Speotyto cunicularia hypugaea. TEXT assisted by 4 b/w photographs - incl. an excavated nest of a burrowing owl. Species identify marks are given, as well as size (wing-spread) and range comments. Cond : No wrappper, as issued, title page is `front cover'. VERY minor crinkling and soiling. No names, marks, folds, bumps nor tears. Staples tight. Not yellowed. Great giftable reference !! Quote (p. 05) : " west of Yosemite. One of these owls was found perched among the roots of an upturned stump in a creek bed.
