Wilczek) is the most important pulse crop in tropical and sub-tropical regions belonging to the family Leguminosae, sub-family Papilionaceae. It contains 51% carbohydrate,26% protein,4% minerals,3% vitamins. Mungbean is a popular pulse crop in Indian subcontinent as a food & fodder crop. In Bangladesh, seeds of mungbean are mainly consumed as soup but in many parts of the world, mungbean consumed in various ways such as drinks, cookies, snakes etc. Sprouted mungbean seeds are consumed as vegetables. Among many shortcomings of Mungbean cultivation, insect pests attack termed as a major one. So,it is important to find out the resistant variety(ies)to avoid insect pests infestation for attaining better yield and Eco-friendly cultivation. White fly termed as a most serious pest of mungbean cultivation due to its tiny and delicate nature & have inherent resistance power against adverse situations. White fly also act as a vector to transmit MYMV disease and some times it may cause yield loss upto 100%. Through this book academicians and students will able to know more insight about mungbean's insect pests, resistant varieties and varietal screening procedures. 108 pp. Englisch.

We genetically modified the M. guizhouense for further commercial developement a new myco insecticide as biocontrol agent to control white grub and other pest insects. But released entomopathogenic fungus how act in the soil and how long recombinant strains can survive under complex environment,it is not clearly known yet. So,for fruitful monitoring of the entomopathogenic fungus action during post inoculation period. We applied ATMT to transform green fluorescent protein(GFP) and enhanced green fluorescent protein(EGFP)genes into M. guizhouense(CQMg135). In two-chambered pot experimental, we also studied persistence and mobility of the genetically engineered strain. We created artificial barrier(porous divider wall covered with nylon mesh)in between tested strain and host plant and found that the tested strain(both recombinant and wild type)can overcome artificial barrier and successfully colonize in peanut root zone. After two months of inoculation, the propagules of the released strains were re-isolated from inner and outer rhizosphere soil titers which was almost similar with original inoculation. 100 pp. Englisch.
