The leather has some very, very slight storage scuffing. The leather is doux, very healthy and most attractive. The pages are gilt-trimmed. The trims gleam. The pages are exceptionally beautiful. Thick, creamy, clean, clear, confident, gentle, elegant. The book has a paper protective cover that is fit for purpose, even if worn and marked. Volume II too is fully bound in sea-blue leather. This too has some very, very light scuffing. The spine has a tiny amount of wear. The book has a paper protective cover that is worn and torn and is included. It has, however, served its purpose! This volume is marked as "Premiere edition". The pages are also gold trimmed. The pages are just too beautiful (more Claridge's than The Ritz). A truly magnificent set. fk.
