Behind the guarded entrances of many of StockholmÆs buildings, photographer Bl?berg and landscape architect Mehlis discover an intriguing array of hidden courtyards tucked away in each neighborhood. In this journey, the collaborative effort uncovers the lush oases as well as the cozy and playful sanctuaries that these courtyards have become. This beautifully designed book also covers courtyards from the 1700s from TessinÆs Palace, those from the 1800s such as Hallwylska, the early 1900Æs cobblestone courtyards, the lush expansive courtyards such as R÷daberg from the mid-1900s and, finally, more recent examples such as Ruddammen or even todayÆs courtyards found in the parking houses in the city.
